At Ginger Mats we like to do what we can for charities. We work with a number of charities making logo mats, The Scout Association (At local group level), Help for Heroes and several other small charities.
We believe that every little helps and if Ginger Mats can do its bit for the greater good, all be it a small part, then at least some of the money saved by the charities on our products can be used elsewhere.
In today’s market brand awareness is key not only to consumer goods and big businesses but also to Charities of all sizes. The charity market is very competitive and by enforcing a strong brand helps people instantly recognise that charity, logo mats is just another way of strengthening that brand, remember the floor is the largest untapped area for advertising.
Working with Charities is a big part of Nick Coward, MD of Ginger Mats, life. Nick is a big supporter of Scouting and in his spare time is an Assistant County Commissioner for Activities in Derbyshire Scouts. Nicks role is to support and advise adult volunteers and the County team with advice and to see that adventurous activities undertaken are done so to the Scout Associations rules and regulations. Nick also builds specialist Scout Activity teams to give to the young people in Derbyshire Scouts opportunities that they would not normally have available ie Climbing, Caving and Mountain biking to name a few.
Nick also does a lot of work with Scouts in particular caving and the education of how caves are formed and the history and working conditions of old mines. All the work Nick does with the Scouts is done on a voluntary basis and this is the same for all other leaders within the Association, Nick says “It’s great to have the opportunity to put something back into scouting, having been through the movement as a cub, scout and then venture scout, it’s great to be able to give others the opportunity to do something different”.
